Too Busy Watching Others

There is a very annoying woman that I know. She gets on my last nerve. She spends her days trying to police what everyone is eating. If you happen to be at lunch with her, she is critiquing what you eat, commenting on whether you should eat it, how sweet she things it is, how many calories it is. Eating with her is not a joy. It has become something to avoid. Now she is not skinny minny.

She is all the time eating candy and trail mix and lots of carbs but somehow never looks at what she is eating. Some have tried to turn the tables and tell her that she eats all sorts of junk and that she needs to look at what she is eating. She swears that all she eats is good and nutritious. That 4 pounds of dark chocolate that she ate all by herself is just peachy!

She gets very defensive and feels that no one should look at what she eats. She just wants to constantly examine what others are eating. Maybe it is some sort of defense mechanism. Maybe she feels that she by looking at others she will feel better about herself. I do not know what, I just know that group eating out with her is a horrid experience. She takes the "j" out joy! any suggestions?

You can chase a butterfly all over the field and never catch it. But if you sit quietly in the grass it will come and sit on your shoulder.
