When I was a little girl and we were out of hair oil...you know black hair can be very curly and tough to comb....my mother used to use olice oil to oil our hair as a substitute until she could get to the store. You had to be careful though. You could not use too much or you would ruin your clothes! Those oil stains would never come out of your collars. The hair was surprisingly soft. Still very nappy but soft. I have not used it in my hair for many years. But it is there, if I am ever in a pinch.
I was in TJ Maxx last weekend and I saw lots and lots of olive oil soap. Big, fat bars that smelled heavenly. Well, after sniffing some and thinking about it and looking at shoes and sniffing it some more, I had to get a box. It cost about $7.00 but it smells so good in the shower and the lather is rich. I tend to be dry so it feels good to my skin. I still have to use lotion....but, I think the olive oil soap make my skin feel more supple. Supposedly, skin and hair cleansed with olive oil soap retain moisture, resilience, suppleness and brightness. I think that is true. So I highly recommend olive oil soap. There is plenty around at places like TJ Maxx and I am sure at other organic stores as well.
I highly recommend olive oil. Period. It is good and will add longevity to your life. Look at how long some of the people in the Mediterrean live. How? Why? Olive oil, I am sure has something to do with it!
You can chase a butterfly all over the field and never catch it. But if you sit quietly in the grass it will come and sit on your shoulder.

could you please tell me what the brand name of those olive oil soaps at TJ Maxx are? We can't find them any longer here and I wanted to get some for my mom for her birthday. My email is justa_email@yahoo.com. Thanks so much for the help.
