Ink is an Annoying Thing!

For me ink has always been an annoying thing! I always seem to be running out of it at the worst times. Times when I need it the most! I could be in the middle of pringing a picture or a card or just writing a letter and streaks! It drives me crazy! I never seem to have any extra around either, so when I run out, all work on whatever I was attempting to print stops. I have to go out to the store and get new ones. In the beginning I used to rely on memory to remember what HP number it was..94, 97?? I always got it wrong. Then I began to write it down. That made a world of difference. No more going back home to look at the empty cartridge and then making a 2nd trip to the store. Ink for the printers has been a challenge for me!

Eating Pomegranate

I have been eating them since I was a little girl and normally just cut them open and begin to pick at the seeds in side. Now the thing is to eat the seeds. I went to a party about 3 weeks ago and it was served in bowls. Not many were eating it as I could tell they did not know what to do. The host began to eat and so did I . Others joined in. The think to do these days is to eat the seeds. Just eat everything. The host was doing it so I did as well. I have not tried the extraction method below, but I think I will in the future.

Pomegranates are definitely one of the hardest fruits to eat. Instead of just biting in, or peeling the skin and biting in, you have to go through a complex (well, kind’ve) process to extract the seeds. While there is not set way for how to eat a pomegranate, in this article we will be giving you some tips that can make the process easier.

Here is a “formal” way to eat a pomegranate:
First, cut off the flowery end of the pomegranate. Then, score the pomegranate into sections and place it in a bowl of water for about 5 minutes. After this, break the sections of the pomegranate open while its still in the water. This will allow the kernels (the stuff you eat), to separate from the rind and sink to the bottom. After this, all you have to do is discard the rind and drain the kernels out of the water.

Keep in mind, thats the formal way. If you’re looking for a much easier, but much dirtier, way to eat a pomegranate, you can simply break or cut the pomegranate open and extra the kernels with your bare hands. Keep in mind though, you will get some purple juice on yourself if you go this route.

How to Extract Pomegranate Juice

If you’re looking to get the juice from the pomegranate, instead of the seeds, here is a very good method. First, press the fruit against a hard counter top, then roll it back and forth to break the kernels. After this, puncture or cut the pomegranate and let the juice drain out into a bowl or cup.

Multiple Thanksgivings

Well tonight was the first of several thanksgivings that I will have this year. Fried turkey and all the fixings was so yummy tonight. It was our annual Thanksgiving dinner at the church. There were some really good recipes there. Things I had never tried before. Cranberry applesauce was one. That was heavenly!

We supposed to go to my brothers house for Thanksgiving this yuear. So we will making that 6 hour hike to North Carolina. I dread the drive as I am the driver! It will be good to see him and the kids and the sister in law. I have not seen them in a while. They normally put up their christmas tree at Thanksgiving so it will be very festive there.

Cranberry applesauce

Ingredients

• 12 ounces cranberries
• 6 ounces unsweetened apple juice concentrate

1. In a saucepan cook cranberries and apple juice concentrate over medium heat until cranberries have burst. Chill and serve. You may also add some white sugar if the recipe isn't sweet enough for you. Only add the extra sugar one tablespoon at a time to avoid over sweetening.

Let the Shopping Begin!

Today I began to think about Christmas gifts. I am low on cash this year and wonder what I will get everyone this year. Do you ever have a year then you just do not feel like shopping at all. Hard for me to even write that. I love to shop. I guess I am just tired right now. Soon the rush and hustle of shopping will be upon us. I think that this year I will stay out of the fray. I want to do alot of online shopping and just have things delivered already wrapped. That will be easy. Now the one big thing I want for me is a laptop. That will be my gift to me! BestBuy will be my place to shop, so I will be checking out all the BestBuy deals ! I might check Dell because my boss just bought himself a new laptop and it was a Dell. For me, I can find lots of other little things at Target. That is one of my favorite stores. Once Target opened, my love for all things Walmart began to wane, just a little.
